Is switching weapons an action 5e?
Switching from one weapon to another while still having both weapons on your person would require a full action – Free action to store one, and the main action to equip the 2nd.
Is it a free action to stow a weapon?

What level spell is polymorph?
Thankfully as a 4th level spell, most beasts have a very low CR and by the time you can cast polymorph your allies should be high enough level to be transformed into (most) critters you can think of.
Should I use flanking 5e?
Flanking in 5e by itself is no bueno: it provides Advantage, which waters down a lot of other class features and abilities designed to let you access Advantage, since they never stack. it’s too easy to flank, because AOOs are only triggered when you leave reach.
